About

Hi, i’m Lance – a coffee-loving, carb enthusiast living in Toronto who just so happens to have a love for men’s fashion and beautiful design. Originally from a quaint little ski town called Banff, I moved to this city after completing my commerce degree in marketing at the University of Alberta to work for Canada’s premium men’s lifestyle publication, Sharp. For the three years that I was there, I served as the online editor and social marketing manager where I helped conceptualize, produce and write over a thousand stories, project manage an award-winning social media campaign and build brand awareness alongside a team of incredibly talented individuals.

Since August of 2014, i’ve been on my own ready to grow, learn new things and explore the world around me. As a freelance writer and brand consultant, I’ve created this site to act as a centralized hub for all of my work and, hopefully, be a place to share ideas, engage and teach what I have learned with you! At the end of the day, my goal is to create a community of people who share the same personal mantra – to learn more and live better. Here, you’ll be able to see what i’ve been up to, catch up on current events and read insightful interviews with some of the industry’s most fascinating people.

Although you can find these links throughout my site, here’s a quick cheat sheet for you below:

    Dear Lance:

I’m the founder of Kovalum, a Canadian menswear line that sells online and in stores across Canada. One of my retailers (Muddy George on Bloor) told me about The Bay Street Bull. I picked up a copy today at the Drake 150. (Kovalum sells at the Drake General Store.) I’d be delighted to show you some items from our upcoming spring/summer collection and introduce you to the line. Please let me know a convenient time for a telephone call.

    Many thanks,

    Mark Johnson
