A few days ago, I was chatting with a prominent men’s buyer in the city about – you guessed it – men’s style. More specifically, the many reasons why a suit is the most versatile item a man can have in his wardrobe. While some may argue that a pair of jeans or a white shirt should take that title, the amount of ways that a suit can expand your options are nothing but impressive – and practical. Outside of the boardroom, you can easily deconstruct an ensemble by wearing each piece as a separate item for something more fitting of a weekend brunch or evening cocktails.

Understanding the importance of proper fit and fabric can make a world of a difference. For example, those cut with a higher armhole are infinitely more comfortable because they follow the natural movements of your body, allowing for a greater range of movement as you go about your day. When I popped into their Toronto Eaton Centre location, I was pleasantly surprised to find that they’ve got a great selection of suiting on offer that were begging to be taken out for a spin – which is exactly what I did.
I love being able to dress down a suit for a pared back take on the tailored look. Of course, if you’re going to go down that road, there are a few things that you should keep in mind: Continue Reading…
